The ocean systems play a major role for climate stability and ecosystem health. Moreover, freshwater systems are an indispensable element of all life on the planet. When these are at threat, everyone and everything is. Thus, a green transition can only succeed when the integrity of oceans and freshwater cycles is cared for and ensured. Resilient, inclusive, healthy and green rural, coastal and urban communities depend on innovative ocean and freshwater governance, environmental observation technologies and digital solutions in support of the European Green Deal. This social lab will bring together experts and stakeholders of transformation in the context of oceans and freshwater systems to explore future directions and their ethical implications.
